A magician arrives in the reclusive coal empire of Luocha, triggering widespread panic in a society already simmering beneath a fragile peace. After being arrested, he encounters an orphan named Xiao Zhi in prison and secretly passes him a magical atlas before being burned at the stake — sending the child through a portal of time, space, and higher-dimensional realms.

A dreamlike woodcut and ink cosmology — political fable, spiritual odyssey, and handcrafted allegory of power and reincarnation.
